I have read lots of things on painting siding, but nothing ever really gave me an answer to question. With our white siding we have burgandy shutters and doors, so my husband and I thought that a tan would look better, plus it would set our house apart from all the rest in out neighbor hood. Everything I have read says that when painting siding that you should use the same or lighter color, ';Is this the only thing we can do';? I thought that maybe since we were going to do a light tan, that it might work!! Who knows. Anyone with advice or answers please help!!!!!!!I have white vinyl siding, ';Can I paint it a light tan color, or will it hurt it';?
You can paint it a shade or two darker but no more than that. Light tan would be fine. My husband is a professional painter and he just explained this to me earlier today.I have white vinyl siding, ';Can I paint it a light tan color, or will it hurt it';?
Invest in a very expensive kind of paint
which is water proof %26amp; anti bacteria %26amp; etc
It save for a long time :)
okay...first..you'll MOST LIKELY need to use primer on the VINYL siding. This helps the paint stay on because vinyl is a smoother surface. Just go to your local hardware store or Home Depot and ask about painting vinyl siding. Paint will not stick or atsy on vinyl and you'll be REpainting the house pretty soon. that can be a mess. As 4 the colors...well you have a good idea there. But please take me serioiously about the primer. Always use primer on smooth...well...use primer on MOST surfaces. Some house paints are made WITH the primer in them But even then ...with the primer...it may not stay on the vinyl. Good Luck! PLease ask a professional or a trusted hardware employee about this. You NEED to know.!!~~Stacy
just try it and if it doesnt work then get new ones.
try using krylon paint for plastic, since vinyl siding is plastic it should work.
The sun can cause dark color vinyl to warp. Painting your white vinyl tan is fine. However, vinyl is maintenance-free. If you paint the vinyl now, you will have to paint again in the future because the paint will peel etc.
