What is the difference between vinyl and silk paint?

What a complete load of twoddle above.

You can have :

1) Vinyl Matt (dull finish but not washable)

2) Soft sheen. Slight shine to it but washable.

3) Silk. Very shiny and washable.

Dulux have made a Vinyl matt that's suppose to be washable ie. a washable dull finish emulsion. What is the difference between vinyl and silk paint?
there are 3 finishes with any paint are Gloss - Silk - Matt : if you think about those words they become self explanatory - Gloss is shiny, Silk is smooth, Matt is dull.

Vinyl is a form of plastic, a ';vinyl'; paint is ideal for kitchens and bathrooms as it wipes clean easily

Tina .What is the difference between vinyl and silk paint?
nothing

vinyl can be matt otr silk ( semi shiny)
vinyal paint is washable and has a high sheen when painted on a wall.

silk paint is of a softer nature and has a very light sheen and is also washable
ok you need to get sorted out here.

vinyl means the paint contains waterproof plasic than is hard wearing and slightly waterproof.

Silk is the resulting finish ie a mid shine

Gloss is a high shine

matt is a low shine

and ultra matt is a near flat finish.

If you have a house less than 6 months and brick build then you should not use vinyl because the house needs to 'breath'

Most silk paint is also vinyl.
Vinyl is washable, Matt is porous, Silk is non porous. Matt and Silk both come in Vinyl

Use Silk where there is going to be a lot of steam/water to stop it from penetrating through to the plaster.
silk has a nice shine to it than vinyl
