I have some paint left over from when we painted our hall and i am wanting to paint our stairs. They are currently pine and was wondering if I can use the same paint on the stairs as i did on the walls? The paint i have is a dulux soft sheen vinyl emulsion.

No. You want Dulux Satinwood for a comparable finish. .Can i use Vinyl Soft Sheen paint on wood?
well yes but you will need to use a primer coat or two as emulsion will be absorbed into the wood as it is a water based paint.
