Trying to remove woodchip paper painted with vinyl silk paint.any ideas please?

i am using a steamer but very hard workTrying to remove woodchip paper painted with vinyl silk paint.any ideas please?
Im an apprentice painter.

Firstly, ive just got to say that im completely and utterly shocked. Not one person has recommended or, by the looks of it discovered the easiest way to remove wood chip paper. Also, to the people who recommended spraying a solution used for cars on the walls, putting washing up liquid in the steamer or covering the area in Nitromors (A liquid paint remover that burns the skin upon contact) i suggest you dont give advice on a subject you clearly dont understand.

Right as for your problem, go t any store that sells painting equipment and buy a glass scraper - It looks like this;

Basically, it cuts the paper off, and leaves part of the under paper-, so use a steamer for them parts. But for the woodchip itself, its so fast its unbelievable.

Note: You can hold the scraper on one of its 2 sides - If the scraper begins to cut into the wall, or cuts a chunk of the wall out - Change to the other side.Trying to remove woodchip paper painted with vinyl silk paint.any ideas please?
The best way i have found as a decorator is to scratch or score the surface using a stanley knife or other sharp tool taking care not to go too deep. When you have done this use hot water with washing up liquid added this helps it to soak better, apply solution to the walls using either a brush or garden sprayer and allow to soak.Be patient and do not try to remove paper until soaked right through,if you soak it enough times the paper wil virtually fall off.
Absolutely.

Get yourself a scoring tool. I like the paper tiger. You'll find it at most home hardware stores for just a few dollars:

Run the scoring tool all over and every which way on the woodchip paper covered with paint. You won't have to press too hard but do make sure you've perforated the paper.

Fill a spray bottle (an old windex bottle works great) with BLUE car windshield washer liquid. Spray this all over the wall to saturate thru the holes you made with the paper tiger. Wait 10 minutes. Don't skip the waiting time... it's very important.

Sray the wall a second time to saturate again. Wait 5 minutes. Again, don't skip the waiting time.

Easily peel the paper off in huge pieces.

This works MUCH better than a steamer.

Enjoy your paper-free wall :)
Hi there

Get a craft knife and slash the walls in lots of different directions. Put a few drops of washing up liquid in the steam stripper then hold the stripper over a section of the wallpaper until it drops off.

It really shouldn't be hard work with this method.

Good luck and best wishes.
You will have to puncture the paint first before you can use the steamer.Try a wire brush to get the paint off the wall paper,it don`t have to be completely just brakes in the paint.
i agree, very hard work, i have spent the last two days doing the same thing, i borrowed a spiked metal roller to puncture the paper first, good luck,
score it with a stanley knife first i meen really criss cross it then put the steamer on it , it allows the steam to get behind the paper.
I found that using a good wire brush to score the paper then give it a good soaking with hot soapy water then use your steam wallpaper stripper a good way,,its hard work but patience will be rewarded.
You can buy heavy duty scrapers in B%26amp;Q; sometimes these are the only answer, especially for woodchip.
Criss Cross it with a stanley knife and steam slowly - leave awhile and using a flexible scraper dig under it and it should then pull right off.

The secret is to SCORE THE PAPER
Paint over with Nitromos paint stripper.
