That's not going to work. Paint isn't made to be stepped on.

You can lay a new vinyl floor right over the top of it (cheapest option).


You can pull it up and refinish the floor below it (not always possible if they aren't hardwood).


You can install a floating floor laminate on top (looks like hardwood).Can you paint over vinyl flooring?
You could. You can do anything, but I don't know if you would really want to.
