If so, is there a special paint to use? TYDoes anyone know if you can successfully paint vinyl covered steel?
Yeap .. you can .... sand it lightly , with a fairly fine grit sandpaper; this will roughen up the surface , allowing paint to stick easier..
The BEST paint to use is a spray paint made by Dupont, i think,
its called '; Fusion '; ( it s made to actually 'fuse' to the plastic
vinyl.... You may find that the color selection is limited , but if you
check with the bigger stores .Like Wal- Mart , or a regular paint store,
you may find a better selection... Maybe they have a web - site for Dupont .... Ther may well be other similar products out there , but I've had great luck with this one .....Does anyone know if you can successfully paint vinyl covered steel?
I think the trick lies with surface preparation. You may need to roughen the surface with an abrasive material such as sandpaper. It is important too to have a clean surface before you apply a paint especially waterborne paint. Good luck with your exercise!
There is a spray paint called Fusion that should stick to it...
