How do I remove vinyl silk paint from plaster?

We have just moved into a house where the previous occupants painted shocking pink vinyl silk paint straight onto bare plaster. Because the plaster was not properly prepared the paint is not adhering properly and has bubbled and peeled in lots of places so needs to come off and can't just be painted over. Does anyone have any good tips about the best way to do this? thanks alotHow do I remove vinyl silk paint from plaster?
if it is already peeling off, just steam strip it off, sand it lightly. if you paint it again put a matt colour paint. i agree with marcus. How do I remove vinyl silk paint from plaster?
It depends on what decor you plan to do. If you are going to wallpaper the walls then the best solution is to paste lining paper on the wall first but this is best done horizontally then hang your patterned wallpaper vertically as normal afterwards. If you plan on painting the surface then you will have to sand the walls to obtain a perfect finish for preparation but this is time consuming and very dusty. I would opt for wallpapering and avoid the painting process.
Wall paper steam stripper will blister the surface and let you peel it off whist it's still hot.

You might need a fine sander for awkward bits, but that should otherwise do the trick.
Sand it, skim it , paint or cover it
