How would I be able to paint vinyl furniture?

I have a vinyl sofa and a matching chair that are a seagreen color. I saw on a home design show one time where they had painted someones vinyl sofa hot pink. I'm wanting to paint mine either a colbalt blue or black, but I'm not sure on what kind of paint I can use. Can I use spray paint? what brand of paint is a good paint? Or can I just use the kind of paint that you can apply with a brush?? How would I be able to paint vinyl furniture?
You can use vinyl paint, but you have to be fairly careful while applying it or it will look terrible. My advice is to practice first.

I'm not sure paint will stick to vinyl that well. Best bet would be to ask a paint store. They do make Vinyl dye in aerosol cans which you can buy at most auto parts stores. The vinyl dye is what they use to change the color of vinyl car interiors so it should work on vinyl furniture.
