I'm such an idiot. I didn't think it would peel. I don't know why this would occur to me. As it was wet I wa sable to peel some of it off, but much remains. My girlfriend comes home is a few days! Help!I painted my bathtub with a water/vinyl based paint. It peels when I shower. How can I remove it?
You can get a plastic razor blade from many auto parts stores wall-mart or home repair stores and scrap it off without scratching the surface as bad as using metal blades.I painted my bathtub with a water/vinyl based paint. It peels when I shower. How can I remove it?
Go to the local paint store and get paint remover which will work on water/vinyl based paint. Open the windows wide and use an exhaust fan to remove the fumes and go to work. The paint should come off rather easily. You can also use a small putty knife and scrape the paint from the surface. If the surface is porcelain , use a detergent along with a cleanser and a good grade sponge which should restore some of the original luster to the tub.
It will peel off rather easily but there may be a few stubborn spots. You can use a razor blade or a hard finger nail to get them started. I hope that helps.
